Top 5 Wednesday: Books as Event Themes

Hey, Strangers! I have been thinking about this tag for two weeks. The topic this week is top five books as event themes. Things like proms, weddings, and bachelorette parties… but with book themes. This is honestly something I’ve fantasized about, so I’m excited. I only have one caveat for myself: I can’t choose Harry Potter. 1. It’s too obvious and 2. I already did that for my ninth birthday party. And so, in no particular order, here are books I’d like to see as even themes.

  1. Shades of Magic trilogy by V.E. Schwab: Okay, so maybe this is cheating since this is Harry Potter for adults, but whatever. I love the ambiance of these books. There could be a theme based around the different Londons or just Red London. There could be an Essen Tasch theme where you have to come up with an identity for if you were a contestant and dress up. Oh, that would be cool. I could totally dig that.
  2. Caraval by Stephanie Garber: This one is cool because you could set up a whole game around it. And you’d get to wear some beautiful dresses.
  3. The Young Elites by Marie Lu: Similar to the Essen Tasch idea, you could create a character (hero or villain, it doesn’t matter). Honestly, it’d be a neat idea for a Halloween party or a convention event. Create your own young elite identity and get really into it.
  4. Star Wars Marvel Comics: Listen, THEY COUNT. They’re graphic novels. The fact that they were born of a movie franchise is of no consequence (at least in regards to this tag). And I don’t have a cute little idea on how to tie it in to an event. It’s just the theme. Because Star Wars.
  5. Heartless by Marissa Meyer: Technically, this is just Wonderland, but this is the only book I have in that world and I think this one creates a nice version of it. And just think how awesome a Wonderland party would be.

And those are the books I think would make great event themes. What books do you think would make a cool event theme? Let me know in the comments!

Catch you on the flip side, Strangers!
